Surfacing Operative - Infrastructure & Highways
An exciting opportunity has become available for a Surfacing Operative to join one of the North West’s most dynamic and fast-growing infrastructure services businesses.
Location: Site Based (North West)
Reports to: Surfacing Foreman

About the role
Reporting directly to the Surfacing Foreman, you will be part of a skilled delivery team carrying out a wide range of surfacing and highway maintenance works across the North West.
You will play a key role in ensuring that works are completed safely, efficiently, and in line with specification requirements, whilst maintaining the highest standards of quality and professionalism on every project.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced operative who enjoys working outdoors, being part of a team, and contributing to critical infrastructure projects that keep communities connected.

Key responsibilities
Carry out surfacing and highway works as directed by the Surfacing Foreman.
Operate plant, machinery, and equipment safely and in accordance with training, competancies and industry standards.
Ensure all plant, tools, and vehicles are inspected before use and reported if defects are identified.
Strive to achieve the highest quality standards on every project.
Assist with site set-up, preparation, and safe completion of works.
Inspect completed works and report any defects or concerns to the Foreman.
Ensure all health and safety procedures are followed at all times.
Report near misses, accidents, damage, and safety observations promptly.
Maintain PPE and company workwear in a safe and serviceable condition.
Support and mentor less experienced team members where appropriate.
Act as a professional ambassador for Multipave when interacting with customers, road users, local residents, and stakeholders.
Help achieve our goals of zero defects and zero harm across every project.
About you
We're looking for someone who is reliable, safety-conscious, proactive, ability to work as part of a team and committed to delivering quality work as part of a high-performing team
Essential
Full UK Driving Licence.
CSCS card
MPQC, CPCS or NPORS plant tickets relevant to surfacing operations.
Knowledge of construction industry best practices.
Good understanding of health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
Ability to work effectively within a team whilst using initiative when required.
Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
Desirable
Experience operating pavers, rollers, and 3CX equipment.
First Aid at Work qualification.
Previous experience within highways or road surfacing projects.
Experience mentoring junior operatives.
