Supervisor - Infrastructure & Highways
An exciting opportunity has become available for a Supervisor to join one of the North West’s most dynamic and fast-growing infrastructure services businesses.

About the role
Working closely with Multipave Management and the client to ensure contracts are completed safely, on time, within budget and to the client’s satisfaction. The fundamental objectives of this role are the day-to-day monitoring of health, safety, environmental and quality matters, line management of Foremen and supervision of surfacing operatives for all surfacing works and maintenance related activities.
You will be accountable for ensuring all works are carried out as per the pre-agreed methodology and RAMS. You will also be accountable for capturing site specific information and changes which affect our work and ensuring that these are briefed out during a Start of Shift Briefing (SoSB). To ensure all employees carry out their duties according to the Multipave Handbook and policies.
Key responsibilities
Health and safety
Lead on health and safety for staff, supply chain and sub-contractors, including daily briefings and toolbox talks.
Communicate any changes to risk assessments and method statements clearly and promptly.
Run Start of Shift Briefings, making sure instructions are understood and recorded.
Report and record incidents, near misses and damage.
Carry out site safety and quality inspections.
Make sure everyone has the correct PPE and workwear.
Record keeping
Keep daily record sheets accurate and available for the team.
Carry out site check measures promptly, ideally with the client.
Maintain accurate site records and report progress regularly.
Complete site audits and report findings where needed.
Support cost tracking and help reduce unnecessary costs.
General management
Make sure all work follows Multipave's health, safety and quality standards.
Aim for zero defects and zero harm on every job.
Manage the daily schedule to keep productivity on track.
Set the standard for safety, conduct and professionalism on site.
Build strong, trusting relationships with clients.
Planning and operations
Handle site visits, client liaison and material orders.
Flag potential issues early and help plan around them.
Support effective planning of labour, plant and material resources.
Brief the team on prestart methodology and site-specific requirements.
Coordinate site resources, including plant, equipment and vehicles.
Take overall responsibility for setting out on site.
Line management
Line manage the Foreman and oversee all operatives on site.
Handle performance reviews and first-line HR matters.
Support training, mentoring and development across the team.
Manage team discipline while promoting positive recognition.
Make sure everyone is treated fairly and communicated with clearly.
About you
We're looking for someone who is reliable, safety-conscious, proactive, ability to work as part of a team and committed to delivering quality work as part of a high-performing team.
Qualifications
NVQ 3-6 in construction/civil engineering, or 5+ years' relevant experience.
Full, valid driving licence and CSCS card.
SSSTS or SMSTS training.
Relevant safety training (manual handling, first aid, customer care).
Skills & Approach

Experience
Solid knowledge of the construction industry and best practice.
Understanding of health, safety, environmental and quality standards.
At least 5 years' experience in highways surfacing and maintenance.
Comfortable using Microsoft packages.
Desirable
LGV licence.
Leadership qualification.
Previous supervisory experience.
